The Episcopal Day School of Holy Trinity Episcopal Parish offers a proven pre-K curriculum to prepare children ages 2, 3, and 4 year-olds for their future education in a loving, Christian environment. Located in the heart of Clemson immediately adjacent to Clemson University, EDS has been in operation for over sixty years.
The Episcopal Day School embodies many characteristics which collectively distinguish it from other preschool programs in the area. The preschool offers parents the choice of 2-, 3-, and 5-day academic programs, as well as early morning and afternoon daycare. Daily chapel services strengthen students’ moral and spiritual development, while other activities, including Library. Language, Creative Movement, Music, Gardening and field trips, enrich their educational experiences. Daily playground activities promote their physical and social development.
Our teachers are highly qualified, experienced, and are dedicated to teaching young children. Each teacher receives periodic refresher training in the Learning Without Tears curriculum and other required certifications.
Our core academic program is based on "Learning Without Tears—Get Set for School," a research-based and age-appropriate curriculum. A wide variety of enrichment activities supplement this preschool curriculum.
EDS provides its students with a strong spiritual foundation through daily, non-denominational chapel services, where students hear Bible stories that convey age-appropriate principles.
Located in downtown Clemson, our picturesque preschool is conveniently located just across the street from Clemson University.
The core academic period is 9 AM - 12 PM. In addition, EDS offers early morning care and flexible options for afternoon care until 5:30 PM.
Our facilities include classrooms in Holy Trinity Church’s Parish House, a playground with age-appropriate new equipment and ground covering, a large field for sports activities, a pavilion for covered outdoor activities, and gardens where students learn to grow plants and vegetables. Locked doors and supervised outdoor spaces prevent entry by unauthorized visitors.
Our students learn experientially, in and out of the classroom, through hands-on projects, singing, drawing and painting in support of the Learning Without Tears curriculum and seasonal themes.
As often as the weather allows, students exercise on our playground equipment and run and play on our large, grassy field. In the classroom, students have fun through creative, positive interactions with their friends.
Students interact with nature and learn about the physical world by growing plants in raised beds devoted to their use.
Daily chapel is led by the Director and a pastor comes once a week. Students participate actively in the chapel service. Chapel is a place where the children learn the stories of God’s love for them and all creation.
This is our third child to go through the Episcopal Day School and we would not have it any other way. Each child has been more than prepared to step into a public school 5k program with ease. There has been very little social or academic adjustment required during the transition between the Day School and Public Education....
Our son is the 3rd generation to attend Episcopal Day School. We are so proud and thankful to have him participate in this loving, caring and stimulating community.
